Description: “Riscopri Risorse” is a project conceived by the Laqup Association, in collaboration with six municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Turin and with the involvement of local schools and citizens, to restore value to small urban spaces (such as squares or small gardens) on which the physical and relational quality of citizens' lives largely depends. The aim is to stimulate in young people the ability to critically reflect on the role of citizens in their own territory and to stimulate digital skills for a conscious and collaborative use of social networks and new technologies as a tool for civic participation in local communities.
Location: The project is developed between the municipalities of Avigliana, Bruino, Carmagnola, Chieri, Luserna San Giovanni, Pinerolo and Rivalta (IT).
Period: 2017-ongoing
Partners: Associazione Laqup (IT), Dipartimento di Informatica – Università degli Studi di Torino (IT), Faber Teater (IT), municipalities of Avigliana, Bruino, Carmagnola, Chieri, Luserna San Giovanni, Pinerolo and Rivalta (IT). With the support of the Fondazione Compagnia di SanPaolo (IT).
Users contribution description: Through the use of FirstLife, an open source civic social network developed by the University of Turin, users "discover" their territory through the shared mapping of urban spaces and their uses by developing paths of civic engagement. The map is progressively enriched through workshops in schools, summer centers and events open to citizenship.
